Durafosf ®
The DURAFOSF® treatment consists in applying a coating that is harder than base metal support for the purpose of providing improved sliding properties, through a very smooth and even surface. In fact, the treatment penetrates and fills in any natural micro cavities present in the base material, significantly reducing its roughness. The treatment provides the treated surface clearly superior hardness and wear resistance, excluding any deformation of the bearing as temperatures never exceed 100° C.
The treated surface is black in colour, perfectly smooth and polished; the treatment increases the thickness by a maximum of 0,2µm.
The DURAFOSF® treatment can be carried out on any metal material, regardless of the type of component to be treated, although practical tests and experience have made it possible to conclude that its ideal application is in the field of bearings, where a four-fold increase in the service life can be observed, even in the presence of heavy loads.
The DURAFOSF® treatment can be carried out on both balls and rollers separately, or on the already assembled bearing . The treatment, already widely used in the German production of bearings, is carried in Italy by our company under an exclusive license agreement.
